ISO/MLS Marketing How to find Training Resources in the Bankcard Industry In addition to receiving training from your ISO, there are still so many tools and resources available online to help you learn about the bankcard industry. You just need to know where to find them.  Your training and education cannot be accomplished with just a 1 week training program. It consists of hours of self-study, research, learning about the competition, learning about vendor technology and solutions, and more. All you need is a computer and internet access, and you can access hundreds of hours of training and educational resources available online. Here are a few ways to find educational and training resources online: 1. What is provided by your ISO? Do they have a training course in-house? 2. Does your ISO provide training materials and videos? 3. Does your ISO provide a training manual?  Marketing materials? 4. Do you have a Sales Manager?  Do you have a mentor/coach to help you the first year? 5. Do you have a Sales Manager or other 3rd party source that can teach you how to read and analyze statements and prepare rate quotes? 6. Hire a business sales coach you can talk to once a week, or 2 times a month 7. Do research on the Greensheet.com, participating in the forums, asking questions.  This is probably the fastest way to get answers by industry veterans. 8. Researching the internet via Google Search about the industry, competition, who is selling in your area, and more. 14. Researching vendor websites like Verifone, Hypercom, Ingenico, Magtek, etc. Vendors provide a lot of training resources, videos, marketing materials, etc. 15.
